The Plot of "Modern Things on Trial: Islam's Global and Material Reformation in the Age of Rida 1865-1935" In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the world was undergoing a significant transformation with the emergence of new technologies, goods, and ideas that were changing the way people lived, worked, and interacted with one another. This period of rapid globalization and cultural exchange was particularly pronounced in cities awakening to European imperial rule, where Muslims encountered a wide range of strange and wonderful new things - from synthetic toothbrushes and toilet paper to railways, gramophones, brimmed hats, tailored pants, and lottery tickets. These goods were crossing cultural frontiers and spurring passionate debates about what should be outlawed and what should be permitted. At the heart of this story is an entrepreneurial Syrian interpreter of the sharia named Rashid Rida, who became a renowned reformer by responding to the demand for authoritative and authentic religious advice.
The Plot of «Modern Things on Trial: Islam's Global and Material Reformation in the Age of Rida 1865-1935» В конце XIX и начале XX веков мир претерпевал значительные преобразования с появлением новых технологий, товаров и идей, которые меняли образ жизни, работы и взаимодействия людей.

The Plot of „Modern Things on Trial: Islam's Global and Material Reformation in the Age of Rida 1865-1935“ Im späten 19. und frühen 20.
