Malamalama: A History of the University of Hawai'i In the early 1900s, Hawai'i was still a young and developing state, with a population that was predominantly Native Hawaiian and Asian American. Despite the challenges faced by these communities, there was a growing recognition of the need for higher education in the islands. In 1907, the College of Agriculture and Mechanical Arts, with only five students and a staff of twelve, opened its doors in a rented house on Young Street. This humble beginning marked the genesis of the University of Hawai'i, which would go on to become one of the most respected institutions of higher learning in the Pacific. A History of the University of Hawai'i, written by emeritus professors Kamins and Potter, tells the story of how this institution grew from a regional undergraduate college to an internationally recognized graduate and research university.
Malamalama: A History of the University of Hawai 'i

W 1907, College of Agriculture and Mechanical Arts, z tylko pięciu studentów i pracowników dwunastu, otworzył swoje drzwi w wynajętym domu na Young Street.
Malamalma: A History of the University of Hawai 'i בתחילת המאה ה-19, Hawai'i היה עדיין מדינה צעירה ומתפתחת, עם אוכלוסייה שהייתה בעיקר ילידי הוואי ואמריקאי אסיאתי.
