IndonesiaChina Energy and Mineral Ties Broaden: A Shift in Global Dynamics The bilateral energy cooperation between China and Indonesia is not a new phenomenon, dating back to the 1980s. However, China's recent investment flow into Indonesia's mining sector has been increasing rapidly, driven by China's increased demand for coal. This surge in Chinese foreign direct investment (FDI) in the mining sector has sparked public debate, particularly over the energy trading agreement between the two nations in 2009. The growing trade deficit with China, with Indonesia having the highest trade deficit among ASEAN countries after Vietnam, has raised concerns about the impact on national economic security and fueled debates over how Indonesian industries can remain competitive while seeking improved trade ties with Beijing. Amid these developments, the relationship between Indonesia and China is poised to strengthen and expand in the future. From China's perspective, Indonesia's abundant mineral wealth has elevated the relationship between the two nations to a strategic level.
IndonesiaChina Energy and Mineral Ties Broaden: A Shift in Global Dynamics

Bununla birlikte, Çin'in Endonezya'nın madencilik sektörüne yaptığı son yatırım akışı, Çin'in artan kömür talebi nedeniyle hızla artmaktadır.
