The New Prometheans: Faith, Science, and the Supernatural Mind in the Victorian Fin de Siecle In the late 19th century, Victorian England was abuzz with a cultural need for self-understanding. Mesmerists, spiritualists, and other romantic seekers roamed the sunken landscapes of entrancement, searching for answers to life's mysteries. It was during this time that the Society for Psychical Research was established in 1882, with the aim of scientifically studying consciousness. The society's investigators sought facts far afield of physical evidence of a transcendent, irreducible mind. This book traces the evolution of psychical research through the intertwining biographies of four prominent figures: Sir William Crookes, a chemist and depth psychologist; Frederic Myers, an ether physicist; Sir Oliver Lodge, an anthropologist; and Andrew Lang, a literary figure. These men brought psychical research beyond academic circles and into the public square, making it part of a shared examination of science and society. The Need for Personal Paradigm As the world grapples with the rapid pace of technological evolution, it is essential to develop a personal paradigm for perceiving the technological process of developing modern knowledge. This paradigm will serve as the basis for the survival of humanity and the unification of people in a warring state.
The New Prometheans: Faith, Science, and the Supernatural Mind in the Victorian Fin de ecle

The New Prometheans: Faith, Science, and the Supernatural Mind in the Victorian Fin de ecle Das viktorianische England litt Ende des 19.

The New Prometheans: Faith, Science, and the Supernatural Mind in the Victorian Fin de ecle 19. yüzyılın sonunda, Viktorya dönemi İngiltere'sinde kendini anlamak için kültürel bir ihtiyaç vardı.
