Say Little Do Much: Nursing Nuns and Hospitals in the Nineteenth Century Studies in Health, Illness, and Caregiving In the nineteenth century, more than a third of American hospitals were established and run by women with religious vocations. In Say Little Do Much, Sioban Nelson challenges the popular view that nursing invented itself in the second half of the nineteenth century, instead, she provides a historically accurate account of the major advances in the care of the sick as a serious and skilled activity that originated in seventeenth-century France with Vincent de Paul's Daughters of Charity. This comparative, contextual, and critical work demonstrates how modern nursing developed from the complex interplay of Catholic emancipation in Britain and Ireland, the resurgence of the Irish Church, the Irish diaspora, and the mass migrations of the German, Italian, and Polish Catholic communities to the previously Protestant strongholds of North America and mainland Britain. Nelson follows the nursing Daughters of Charity through the French Revolution and the Second Empire, documenting the relationship that developed between the French nursing orders and the Irish Catholic Church during this period.
Say Little Do Much: Nursing Nuns and Hospitals in the Nineth Century Studies in Health, Disease, and Caregiving
Say Little Do Much: Nursing Nuns and Hospitalals in the Nineth Century Studies in Health, Disease, and Caregiving No século XIX.
Say Little Do Much: Nursing Nuns and Hospitals in the Nineth Century Studies in Health, Disease, and Caregiving Im 19.

Say Little Do Much: Nursing Nuns and Hospitals in the Nineteen Century Studies in Health, Disease, and Caregiving On dokuzuncu yüzyılda, Amerikan hastanelerinin üçte birinden fazlası dini mesleklere sahip kadınlar tarafından kuruldu ve işletildi. "Say Little Do Much'da obhan Nelson, hemşireliğin on dokuzuncu yüzyılın ikinci yarısında kendini icat ettiği popüler görüşe meydan okuyor; bunun yerine, on yedinci yüzyıl Fransa'sında Vincent de Paul'un" Sadaka Kızları'ile ortaya çıkan ciddi ve yetenekli bir faaliyet olarak hemşirelikteki büyük ilerlemelerin tarihsel olarak doğru bir açıklamasını sunuyor. Bu karşılaştırmalı, bağlamsal ve eleştirel çalışma, modern hemşireliğin İngiltere ve İrlanda'daki Katolik kurtuluşunun karmaşık etkileşiminden, İrlanda Kilisesi'nin yeniden canlanmasından, İrlanda diasporasından ve Alman, İtalyan ve Polonyalı Katolik topluluklarının kitlesel göçlerinden nasıl geliştiğini göstermektedir. Nelson, Fransız Devrimi ve İkinci İmparatorluk boyunca kız kardeşi "Sadaka Kızları'nı takip ederek, bu dönemde Fransız Hemşirelik Emirleri ile İrlanda Katolik Kilisesi arasında gelişen ilişkiyi belgeliyor.

"Say Little Do Much" 에서 obhan Nelson은 19 세기 후반에 간호가 발명 한 대중의 견해에 도전하는 대신 17 세기에 등장한 진지하고 숙련 된 활동으로 간호의 주요 발전에 대한 역사적으로 정확한 설명을 제공합니다.
