Rendezvous Eighteenth: An American Mystery in Paris As the sun sets over the bustling streets of Paris, a sense of unease settles over the city's Eighteenth Arrondissement. The air is filled with the sweet scent of freshly baked croissants and the sound of laughter from the local cafes, but beneath the surface lies a darker truth. In this vibrant neighborhood, where cultures blend together like the colors of a rainbow, a mysterious death will shake the very foundations of Ricky Jenks' life. Ricky, an African-American piano player at a small cafe in Montmartre, has long since left his troubled past in the United States behind. He's content, if not happy, with his life in Paris, surrounded by a diverse community of expats and locals. His love affair with a French Muslim woman, Amina, adds a touch of warmth to his days, but everything changes when his estranged cousin, Marcus, appears on his doorstep, desperate for help finding his runaway wife. That same night, Ricky discovers a prostitute dead in his apartment building, her body cold and lifeless.
