One Day at a Time 2017: A Husband and Wife's 87-Day Road Trip Through 22 States on Two Harley Softails As we embark on our 87-day road trip across 22 states on two Harley Softails, my husband Bonz and I can't help but feel a sense of excitement and adventure. We've been together for over 30 years, and with our children now grown and flown the nest, we're looking for a way to reconnect and rediscover each other, as well as ourselves. With Bonz recently retired and me taking a break from work without pay, we knew this journey would be the perfect opportunity to do just that. We set out on June 1st, 2017, with no real plans or reservations, simply flying by the seat of our pants. Our trusty steeds, Bertha and Betsy (our Harley Softails), were ready and raring to go, and so were we. As we hit the open road, we felt a sense of freedom and possibility that only comes with traveling by motorcycle. The wind in our hair, the sun on our faces, and the vast American landscape stretching out before us, we were living the dream. Day 1-5: New York to Michigan Our first stop was Niagara Falls, where we marveled at the sheer power and beauty of one of the world's most famous waterfalls. From there, we headed north into Canada, taking in the stunning vistas of Lake Ontario and the Thousand Islands.
